Rick Bay is a sports executive with 30 years of experience in both collegiate and professional sports. In the college arena, he has served as athletics director at the University of Oregon, the University of Minnesota, San Diego State University and Ohio State University. His professional sports resume includes working for George Steinbrenner as the Chief Operating Officer for the New York Yankees as well as tenure as the President of the Cleveland Indians.
Rick Bay is a member of the Hall of Honor at the University of Michigan and the Hall of Fame for the National Association of College Athletic Directors Hall of Fame (NACDA).
Bay graduated from the University of Michigan, where he played football, was an All-American wrestler and was voted the Big 10’s Most Outstanding Wrestler. He later coached wrestling at his alma mater. His last two Wolverine teams were undefeated; winning a Big 10 championship, finishing third and second in the NCAA Tournament, and voting Bay as the National Coach of the Year.
He is a member of the Hall of Honor at the University of Michigan and the Hall of Fame for the National Association of College Athletic Directors Hall of Fame (NACDA). Bay was also named to the All-Time Illinois High School Wrestling Team.
